Black liberation has wrestled with white racism for an entire era. White social thought and political economy from the Enlightenment to the present are exposed as traps for theorists of African descent.

Surveying the historical record, Munford clearly shows the United States of America to be a republic of just two fundamental nations—Black and white—under a binary racial system. Revisiting the race-versus-class debate, he also examines the diversionism and disunity for Black struggle concealed in feminism, anti-miscegenation, environmentalism, sexual preference, media-manipulated multiculturalism, and the new census tract category called "multi-racial identity."
