FREEDOM CLOTHES: THE AMAZING TALE OF THORNTON AND LUCIE BLACKBURN is the historical-faction of a married couple who escaped the brutality of slavery in Louisville, Kentucky in 1831, took a steamboat to Cincinnati, Ohio, and a stage-coach to Detroit, Michigan where they lived for a time a life of freedom. They were captured, imprisoned and doomed to be taken back to Kentucky to live as slaves again. The people of Detroit freed Lucie and Thornton in an incredible manner and helped them finally achieve freedom in Canada.
